Solar Simulation and Material Testing
Precise sunlight simulation for research and industry
Radium TECH offers a comprehensive portfolio of high-performance light sources for simulating sunlight in laboratory and testing applications. Our lamp technologies – from metal halide lamps (HRI and RSI) to high-pressure UV lamps (Suprasol HTC) – enable reproducible test conditions according to international standards (DIN 75220, MIL-STD 810, IEC 61215/61646, SC03, and others). This allows for reliable testing of material behavior, aging processes, and functional reliability – regardless of the time of day, season, or weather conditions.
Technical Parameters
- Spectral Range: 280 – 3000 nm (UV-C to IR) depending on lamp type
- Operating Modes: Continuous operation or defined test cycles
- Designs: Single and double end-burner (SE/DE), various base options

Application range
Industry & Automotive
- Climate chambers for component and complete system testing
- Material aging tests (fading, embrittlement, deformation)
Photovoltaics & Energy
- IEC-compliant long-term tests for PV modules
- UV preconditioning, light soaking, hotspot testing
Research & Development
- Testing of coatings, plastics, and textiles
- Weather and weathering simulation combined with temperature, humidity, and altitude profiles

Advantages
- Reproducible Results: Standard-compliant spectra for maximum comparability
- High Intensity: Accelerated aging tests within a few days or weeks
- Flexible Configuration: Suitable lamp technology for every spectral requirement
- Energy Efficiency: Metal halide lamps with low IR content for easier temperature control
- Made in Germany: High-quality manufacturing with a long service life and high operational reliability
Safety, please note
- HRI and RSI lamps may only be operated in enclosed fixtures that reduce UV radiation to a safe level.
- Suprasol HTC lamps produce high-intensity UV radiation – direct skin or eye contact must be avoided.
- Mercury may be released if a lamp breaks – appropriate protective measures are required.
