UV Excimer Lamps in Other Wavelengths
Precision Beyond 172 nm
XERADEX® excimer lamps are powerful, mercury-free UV radiation sources capable of operating in various wavelength ranges. While 172 nm xenon excimer lamps (VUV) are widely used, lamps with other fill gases and emission lines open up entirely new possibilities – from selective surface activation to highly specialized photochemistry.

Our UV Lamp Product Portfolio
Depending on the gas filling and operating conditions, XERADEX® excimer lamps can be manufactured in specially selected UV and VUV wavelengths that extend beyond the standard 172 nm Xe emission:
- 207 nm (KrBr*) – suitable for high-precision, gentle surface modification with reduced penetration depth into the material, especially in microelectronics and medical technology.
- 222 nm (KrCl*) – optimal for germ-reducing applications while minimizing ozone formation, suitable for sensitive environments.
- 253 nm (XeI*) – highly effective for disinfection and sterilization, without the use of mercury, environmentally friendly and low-maintenance.
- 282 nm (XeBr*) – effective for certain organic degradation processes or for activating special coatings.
- 308 nm (XeCl*) – ideal for photochemical structuring, polymer processing, or lithography. Processes.
This targeted selection of wavelength makes it possible to precisely adapt surface processes to the respective material and process requirements – often without additional chemical additives.
Why Excimer Lamps with Special Wavelengths?
- Material Protection: Certain wavelengths penetrate the surface by only a few nanometers – ideal for sensitive materials.
- Process Optimization: Reduced heat load and precise control of reactivity.
- Application-Specific: Suitable for the semiconductor industry, medical technology, packaging printing, specialty coatings, and more.
Thanks to mercury-free technology, our special excimer lamps offer an environmentally friendly, reliable and energy-efficient solution for industry and research.
